Courtz' Creativity Corner: Scotsmen Series

I’m currently working on a series of sexy Scotsmen in kilts. Here’s my first one.

Artist's Statement

There are things about the nude human form that I admire: the pronounced and subtle curves, the fleshy muscle masses, the presence of (or lack there-of) hair (especially when draped across the body), the variety of body types, and the overall sensual, seductive and alluring appearance it has, whether clothed or not. I strive to depict both males and females in my own style, showing them off in varying levels of erotic poses. I am not afraid to break the boundaries of what is acceptable to show in regards to genitalia, so most of my art is not for innocent minds. I want to entice and please the eye with my work.

When I draw I first find some reference images to work from, sometimes taking my own photos, so I know how certain body parts work when in a certain pose. I do everything in Adobe Photoshop, including sketches, final line art, color studies, and the final piece.

My current work consists of various pin-up pieces, whether in a series, as stand-alone images, or for advertising products. I am greatly inspired by former Playboy artist Dean Yeagle’s drawings of curvy and playful women. My goal is to create interesting poses for the viewer to enjoy.
